Chocolate Syrup Cake

1 stick margarine
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Lay margaring out or microwave to soften. Add sugar. Stir. Add eggs one at a time and beat each time. Mix baking powder and salt with flour. Sift. Alternate syrup and flour until mixed. Add vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before icing.
Chocolate Syrup Cake Icing:
Place in to pot: 1/2 stick margaring, 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup canned cream. Mix and put on eye to boil, turn down after boiling and cook for 2 minutes. Take off stove and add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Stir until melted. Pour over cake immediately.
